Looking to evolve your Ponyta into a Rapidash? Don’t worry, we got you covered.
Having a good starter Pokémon is always a good thing, but you know what’s even better? A secondary Pokémon that can fight alongside you. And I think one of the best Pokémons out there is Ponyta.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is out for a couple of months now and I’m sure many of you guys are looking to evolve your Pokémon. In this guide, I’ll teach you how to evolve your Ponyta into a Rapidash in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
To evolve your Ponyta in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, just have it reach Level 40. Once you get to level 40, your Ponyta will start flashing and you’ll have the option to evolve it into a Rapidash.
Ponyta is a Fire-type Pokémon, but catching one doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll have to lower its HP like in previous Pokémon games. You can get one early on if you happen to visit Horseshoe Plains on the eastern side of the map.
Whether you’re a Normal-type fan or a Legendary-type enthusiast, Ponyta serves as one of the best Pokémons for early to mid-game.
What Level Does Ponyta Evolve?
Level 40. Once your Ponyta reaches Level 40, you’ll be able to evolve it into a Rapidash. And if you wanna do that hard and fast, you must follow the steps below:
What you’re gonna do first is, of course, to catch a Ponyta.
Boot up your Pokémon Legends: Arceusand go to Horseshoe Plains. Once there, you’ll wanna make sure you have enough Pokéballs to catch a Ponyta. It’s pretty simple, don’t worry.
Once you have a Ponyta, simply return to the town and get your supplies because you’re going hunting again.
Fly to Obsidian Fieldlands and land on one of the areas there called “Floaro Gardens”. Once you’re there, farm these level 20 Beautiflies. It’ll be a lot easy for you to win against them because your Ponyta is a Fire-type Pokémon, which is one of Beautifly’s weaknesses.
After a couple of hours farming the Beautiflies and massacring an entire generation of them, you’ll have enough EXP to max out your Ponyta at level 40 or more. There are no cheats or hacks here, just pure EXP grind.
Now, once your Ponyta is Level 40, you’ll want to evolve it into a Rapidash.
Load up your Satchel and you’ll see the Pokéball that Ponyta’s in is glowing gold. Select Ponyta and choose “Evolve”.
Congratulations, you just turned your level 40 Ponyta into a Rapidash. Hooray! See, it’s pretty easy and convenient.
Part 1: When does Ponyta Evolve?
Any time you reach level 40 or above. They don’t evolve on their own, so you’ll have to put effort to farm EXP and power-level them until they reach level 40. Once they do, you’ll want to evolve it into a Rapidash.
Or not, it depends on your choice. If you’re looking to get a Ponyta, get the shiny variant. There’s a quest about a shiny Ponyta after getting your first Ponyta. If you’ve managed to catch your first Ponyta, visit the Guild Hall.
Once you’re there, go to the Research Room/Science Lab and you’ll see in one of the quest boards that there’s a quest about catching an Unusual Ponyta.
Accept the quest and go to Horseshoe Island once again and there you’ll see a shiny variant of the Ponyta.
You’ll get a cutscene and once you’re done with it, you can now catch your first shiny Ponyta.
Do take note that although Ponyta’s really good, its strengths and weaknesses against other types of Pokémons are something to be wary of.
Part 2: Can you evolve Ponyta with a fire stone?
No. You don’t need a Fire Stone to evolve a Ponyta. Just level them up to level 40 and you’ll be able to evolve them into a Rapidash. Unlike other Pokémons, Ponyta is simply built different and doesn’t need any Fire Stones to be in its best shape as a Rapidash.
Part 3: What LVL does Ponyta evolve arceus?
As mentioned earlier, you only need Ponyta to reach level 40 and you’ll be able to evolve it. Fire stones aren’t necessary, but if you’re looking for a shiny variant, you might take a while before you get one to spawn after the Peculiar Ponyta quest.
Part 4: Can Rapidash evolve in Pokémon Legends: Arceus?
No. Rapidash is the final evolution of a base Ponyta. And yes, you can also get a shiny version of a Rapidash, but first, you’ll have to catch a shiny version of a Ponyta. By default, you’ll get the quest to catch one by visiting the Guild Hall’s Science Lab.
Above is the shiny variant of the Rapidash that evolved from a shiny Ponyta.
That’s it for this guide. Hopefully, this is enough to stop you from horsing around and actually push you to level up your Ponyta. And if you’re looking to finish all Pokemon titles in a single month, then don’t forget to check out this guide as well.
