Pokémon Radical Red is a Pokémon ROM hack of FireRed. Radical Red increases the difficulty of the base game exponentially! However, there are also plenty of quality of life improvements here. For example, the developers buffed several Pokémon to make them more viable.
The story remains mostly the same. However, if you enjoy playing with Mega Evolutions and strategic AIs in an older generation, Pokémon Radical Red is the game for you!
Let’s look at everything you need to know about Pokémon Radical Red!
Details On Pokemon Radical Red
Story
Pokémon Radical Red is, by and large, a difficulty hack. Because of this, the base storyline from Pokémon FireRed remains relatively untouched.
After choosing your starter Pokémon, players will set out on their adventure. You will take on gym leaders, evil teams, and the Elite Four on your quest to become a Pokémon master!
Features
There are tons of new features found in Pokémon Radical Red! While the added difficulty is already a great addition, there is also a randomizer option before the game even starts! This will randomize random encounters and a plethora of other Pokémon as well!
Furthermore, Radical Red introduces some unique mechanics. For example, players can switch the abilities of their Pokémon! Here is a full list of all the new changes in Pokémon Radical Red.

Cheating on Pokémon Radical Red
Pokémon ROM hacks often encourage the use of cheating. However, this is never intended to break the game. Instead, hacks are meant to enhance the experience. For example, hacking in rare candies can alleviate grinding (as long as you don’t abuse them).
